ISSMCT is an international educational event targeting classroom teachers and educators from SEAMEO member countries and beyond. The main objective of this symposium is to gather the best practices in classroom pedagogy from teachers in Southeast Asia and beyond.

The detail objectives of ISSMCT are as follows:

  • To serve as a platform for Science and Mathematics classroom teachers to showcase their inventions/innovations, new teaching techniques, new pedagogical approaches, and new classroom initiatives to the world

  • To promote regional networking among classroom teachers (not limited to Science and Mathematics field) for professional development

  • To enhance classroom teaching and learning skills through regional sharing of new content knowledge among teachers as well as from field experts

  • To compile and strengthen regional best practices in classroom teaching through professional development and lifelong learning platforms

 

The target group of ISSMCT includes formal education teachers, trainee teachers, non-formal trainers, university lecturers, and private tutors who have a passion for classroom teaching.

Invitations to be part of ISSMCT includes all SEAMEO Member countries; Brunei Darussalam, Cambodia, Indonesia, Lao PDR, Malaysia, Republic of the Union of Myanmar, The Philippines, Singapore, Thailand, Timor-Leste, and the Socialist Republic of Vietnam. 

ISSMCT is also opened to all; not limited to SEAMEO member countries. Anyone who have the passion towards enhancing pedagogical skill are welcome.

 


Step 1 : Prepare your pedagogical abstract using the provided format. If your abstract involves multiple authors, you may include all their names, provided they will also attend the symposium alongside you
     
Step 2 : Register as a presenter and submit your pedagogical abstract along with your registration. The registration link is available here

Step 4 : Join the ISSMCT as a presenter on 25–26 February 2025 at SEAMEO RECSAM and stand a chance to win the prestigious Nadim Award, which includes cash prizes, a trophy, and a certificate of achievement
     
Step 5 : Build your network with fellow teachers and keynote speakers at ISSMCT, and gain first-hand insights from the best in the field

  1. Engage in a face-to-face discussion with our panel of keynote speakers.

  2. Attend a special add-on workshop session conducted by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Kosaka Masato, which will be held concurrently with Parallel Session 2. Check the full programme here

  3. Stand a chance to win the Nadim Award, which includes an achievement certificate, cash prize, and a special trophy.

  4. Have your abstract published in an international proceedings compilation of best practices, distributed to classroom teachers across SEAMEO member countries.

  5. Winners of the Nadim Award will also be invited to publish the full paper in our Learning Science and Mathematics (LSM) Journal. Check our previous issue of LSM Journal here

  6. Receive an internationally recognized certificate from SEAMEO RECSAM as a paper presenter or participant.
