The word “NADIM” was derived from the historical legend of a youth named Hang Nadim who saved Singapura (Singapore) from a plague of vicious garfish. His ingenious idea of planting a barricade of banana stems to trap the fishes’ sharp beak-like snouts has saved the country and its citizens.
This award shall signify the highest recognition given to the achiever who contributed to new ideas in teaching and learning Science and Mathematics in a classroom setting. Hence, the purpose of this award is to recognize and celebrate the achievement of Science, Mathematics, and ICT classroom teachers and educators from SEAMEO member countries and beyond.
